Family Days at the Meadows Library in Maghull.
Maghull was where Frank Hornby sent much of his life. In the library there is a display of numerous products of the Binns Road factory covering many years. Dick Watson took various small models to entertain the children and his model of the manual cover blocksetting crane for their grandfathers. Veronica ran the Hands–On Plastic Meccano Workshop. Pictures of many of the large number produced appear below. Approximately 17 models were made on the first day and 11 on the second shorter day.
The library staff were exceedingly helpful with getting the models in and out of the display area.

Guild Meeting, 3rd September.
This year is the 50th. Anniversary of the formation of the Guild. This was marked by the consumption of a cake and a group photograph. The cake was photographed by Brian Elvidge and the group was photographed by a former editor of the Meccano Magazine. Both appear below.

There was a good display of models. Unfortunately, the only photographs available were taken in rather a hurry by the Webmaster. He apologises for to the members whose models do not appear. However, some were also shown the following week at the BCVM and were photographed.
